Alien Scene

Modular

The main assignment was to create a set amount of parts, each being less than 1,000 tris, and build a scene out of them. I chose to base my scene on the movie Alien and games like Alien: Isolation.

The most challenging aspect of the project was ensuring every piece fit within the tri count. The padded walls were the biggest hurdle by far, as I wanted to create depth without excessive beveling. I initially experimented with baking a high-poly mesh onto a flat wall, but that didn't yield the results I wanted.

In the end, I modeled each cushion individually, optimizing them as much as possible. Consequently, every wall, floor, and model was remade several times to meet the assignment restrictions while maintaining high visual quality.
